Summer Research Opportunities

We believe it is vital to invest in the future of research – and not just with our Rowan-Virtua GSBS community. In addition to the programs we offer for current students, researchers, and incoming students, we have several programs designed for undergraduate and high school students. These programs offer high-achieving students throughout Southern New Jersey the opportunity for hands-on research with Rowan-Virtua GSBS students and faculty members.

Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE)

Calling all undergraduate research students, want to do something meaningful this summer, and get PAID for it? Apply for our Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE). SURE is a 10-week long, tuition-free, PAID internship at Rowan-Virtua GSBS designed for undergraduates who are interested in doctoral (PhD) programs in biomedical sciences, as well as a career as a scientist/researcher in biomedical sciences. The program provides a stimulating, hands-on research experience in many areas of biomedical research including mitochondrial biology, developmental biology, inflammatory mediators, aging, gene expression, cancer biology, signaling pathways, addiction, behavioral neurobiology, cognitive function and neuroscience.

 

High School Biomedical Scholars Program

The High School Biomedical Scholars program is a two-week immersive program offered during the summer to current High School students. In this program, you will work alongside talented faculty and graduate student mentors from Rowan-Virtua GSBS and Rowan-Virtua SOM. Throughout the two-weeks, you will observe and perform laboratory techniques and experiments used to conduct cutting-edge biomedical research.
