Orientation Information

Our TBES Orientation will be held on August 27, 2024 in conjunction with the University-wide School of Graduate Studies (SGS) event. The School of Graduate Studies event is from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., with an evening reception. The TBES programming will occur from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. (may end earlier) in Engineering Hall 319/320/321 (#10 on the map). After lunch, there will be a School-wide presentation and then the students will break out into their program groups for an information session with their Program Director/Chair.

Details

If you are registered and planning to attend the in-person SGS Graduate Student Orientation Day, then join us in Engineering rooms 319/320/321 at 12 p.m. for lunch. If you are registered for the virtual SGS Graduate Student Orientation Day, then you are invited to come to Engineering rooms 319/320/321 at 9 a.m. to watch the virtual presentation alongside fellow students who were not able to attend the in-person event due to capacity constraints.

There will be important information shared at the event. This is also a great opportunity to meet other students in your program and others at Rowan University, as well as your Deans and your Program Director. Please attend if at all possible. Contact your Program Director if you will not be able to attend, so they know to send you any important information you may miss at the event.

Tentative Schedule*
Tuesday, August 27

9 a.m. - 12 p.m. – SGS portion of the program (Rowan Hall Atrium, overflow students will be in Engineering Hall 319/320/321).

12 p.m. - 1 p.m. – Lunch (Engineering Hall 319/320/321)

1 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. – Rowan-Virtua TBES portion of the program (Engineering Hall 319/320/321)

1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m. – Meet with Program Directors/Chairs (each program will be assigned a room in Engineering Hall the day of the event)

3 p.m. - 5 p.m. (Optional SGS wellbeing breakout activities)

5:45 p.m. - 7 p.m. – Reception

*we will move to the next activity as each activity is completed

Parking

You can park in lot D-1 or D, which can be found on the Parking Map.
No permit is needed on that date.
